Sign up for a Personal Emergency Preparedness Class
Disaster Preparedness at St. Columba means creating a community of prepared neighbors, before the next emergency. Are you ready?
We began with community awareness and to introduce why preparedness is important. Now we are introducing home preparedness training with city resources available to community members. Other cities have similar classes, search for CERT.
Oakland is offering a free 1.5-hour Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP) class, in-person or some months also on Zoom. The class covers the most important actions for being prepared for wildfires, earthquakes or tsunamis/floods.
Take these 90 minutes to get prepared.
Self-reliance is key. Learn how to identify and anticipate hazards, reduce hazards in the home and workplace, and apply basic lifesaving medical techniques to better support yourself, your immediate family, and your home.
This training is great for individuals who just need basic information and general awareness for themselves.
Each month, on the third Thursday, Oakland holds a PEP training session. Tell a friend and register to complete the course together!
